State Autopsy Completed in Nolan Wells Case — But Questions Still Remain

By Miss Knockout | The Miss Knockout Show

There’s another update in the Nolan Wells case, and this is one a lot of people have been waiting on.

Officials have confirmed that the official state autopsy on Nolan Wells has now been completed. However, the results have not been released to the public yet.

Once investigators finish their work, all of the evidence—including the autopsy report—will be turned over to a grand jury, which will decide whether there’s enough evidence to determine if a crime may have been committed.

Officials say presenting the case to a grand jury is standard procedure in Mississippi for suspicious or unnatural deaths. It does not automatically mean criminal charges are coming.

As many of you know, the 18-year-old college student disappeared after spending the Fourth of July weekend on a boating trip with friends near Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Several days later, his body was recovered.

The Wells family also had an independent autopsy performed.

According to attorney Ben Crump, that private pathologist listed Nolan’s cause and manner of death as “undetermined pending investigation,” noting there were limitations that prevented any final conclusions at this stage.

Meanwhile, investigators are taking a close look at a distress call made by one of Nolan’s friends to a local towing company after the boat reportedly began sinking.

In the call, the caller says everyone on board was okay, that no one was over the age of 21, and asks for help getting the boat back.

The towing company ultimately wasn’t needed because another boat reportedly came to assist.

That audio is now being reviewed by investigators to see if it contains any additional clues.

Ben Crump also says his legal team has obtained the recording and plans to have independent audio experts analyze it as well.

Right now, the investigation remains active, and many questions are still unanswered.

The focus now shifts to the autopsy findings, the ongoing investigation, and what—if anything—the grand jury decides once all of the evidence is presented.
